Jones Networking is recruiting for a Legal Secretary with a Large Law Firm in Washington, DC. Legal Secretary Position Summary:

  • Provide high-level secretarial and administrative support in a Secretarial Service Center consisting of a team of two or three Secretaries.

  • Work closely to mentor, share knowledge, and best practices with newly hired and junior level Legal Secretaries.

  • Schedule client meetings, reserve conference rooms, coordinate audio visual equipment and catering arrangements.

  • Coordinate all aspects of lawyers’ travel arrangements and prepare travel itineraries; monitor and process travel reimbursements; maintain Outlook calendar and monitor crucial due dates for lawyers as required.

  • Type, revise, and proofread general correspondence, memos, legal documents, and reports from various sources. Prepare draft communication outlined by lawyer as required.

  • Utilize iManage document management system effectively as a central repository for all matter related documents.

  • Establish and maintain records of documentation in searchable electronic formats.

  • Maintain assigned attorneys’ time in 3E; proofread and submit finalized time to Accounting on a daily basis.

  • Maintain knowledge of client requirements for billing and prepare client billing as required.

  • Prepare New Business Matter and updates list of client/matter codes.

Legal Secretary Qualifications Summary:

  • Minimum three years relative secretarial experience in a law firm setting.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • High attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to manage workflow and delegate projects as necessary.

  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and manage deadlines.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Experience with iManage, Elite, 3E, and/or Chrome River desired.

  • High school diploma is required; college classes or degree desired.
