Position Title: Proposal Writer
Location: Bethesda, MD

Report to: Marketing Director
Status: Full Time, Direct Hire

Proposal Writer Position Summary:

  • Lead the development of new business proposals, as well as the tracking of results for all RFPs and proposal submissions
  • Write, edit, format and finalize business proposals for clients
  • Review and analyze requests for proposals identifying client requirements and special circumstances
  • Coordinate meetings with the proposed engagement team to customize business proposals
  • Address the unique needs of clients while highlighting the Firms qualifications
  • Monitor proposals while tracking and updating their status
  • Follow up with Firm partners regularly to provide updates and other relevant information
  • Maintain and update Firm information for use and inclusion in proposals
  • Manage all resources related to proposal creation to include formatting and proposal language
  • Oversee editing and proofreading process of proposals


Qualifications Summary:

  • Minimum three years relevant proposal writing experience in a professional services environment
  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in Marketing, Communications, English or Public Relations
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail in the areas of writing, editing and proofreading
  • Excellent research and project management skills
  • Ability to develop relationships internally and externally with clients
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities and timelines
