Senior Personal Injury Attorney / Mass Tort
Remote, Based in Washington DC, VA or MD
Jones Networking is recruiting for a Senior Attorney to join a growing Personal Injury & Mass Tort Law Firm. This position can be based remotely in Washington, DC, Virginia or Maryland. The Senior Attorney is a critical position within the firm and comes with a compelling compensation package and employer-paid health insurance.
Reporting to the VP of Legal Operations, the Senior Attorney will be responsible for client relations, mediation, arbitration, trials, motions, oral and written advocacy while interpreting laws, rules, and regulations for clients. This position will require occasional travel for team meetings, vendor relations, and other firm needs. The ideal candidate should have at least 7+ years of experience in personal injury & mass tort litigation and hold a DC, VA or MD State Bar membership.
Position Summary for Senior Personal Injury Attorney / Mass Tort:
– Coordinate mass communications with clients regarding the status of the litigation through various means (electronically through text/email, and by mail).
– Ensure that relevant case information is properly entered into and tracked within the firm’s case management software including case stage/statuses, staff assignments, and all client correspondence.
– Track the status of open cases within the firm (active dockets), including through communication with the assigned legal staff, to ensure that cases are being processed according to the needs of the current stage of the litigation.
– Provide reports to the firm’s owner regarding the status of cases as requested.
– Significant interaction with court system mediations, arbitration, trials, motions, oral and written advocacy.
– Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for clients.
– Examines legal and medical data to determine insurance coverage, liability and damages.
– Conduct research, interview clients, and witnesses and handle other details in preparation for trials or hearings.
– Develop settlement brochures, strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases. Responsible for legal compliance with respect to disbursements and settlement funds.

Qualifications Summary for Senior Personal Injury Attorney / Mass Tort:
– Juris Doctor degree from an accredited College of University.
– DC, VA or MD State Bar membership.
– Additional State Bar membership in CA a plus.

– Minimum of 7+ years of experience in personal injury and mass tort litigation.
– Experience in personal injury litigation or trial experience in medical malpractice, personal injury, wrongful death, or civil litigation practice areas are required.
– Mass torts-related experience (including product liability, pharmaceutical litigation, product defect, environmental disaster and/or other similar complex litigation) required.
– Civil trial experience.
– Scientific or medical background is a plus.
– Superior drafting and research skills.
– Exhibits a professional, courteous demeanor to external and internal clients.
– Confers with colleagues to establish and verify the basis for legal proceedings.
– Must be able to administer/adhere to company policies and procedures.
– Must be willing to establish and build relationships with other professionals in the communities we serve to enhance our brand recognition, marketing efforts and client service.
– Must be able to exercise extensive independent judgment to make decisions in carrying out assignments that have substantial impact on the department.
– Ability to instruct, lead and evaluate employees; lead and motivate others; communicate effectively and use judgment, tact and discretion; quickly assimilate oral and written data, to analyze facts and draw logical conclusions; maintain favorable client/employee relations.
– Travel required.
