Jones Networking is recruiting a Veterans Benefits Paralegal to a fast growing law firm in Raleigh, NC. Responsibilities of the Veterans Benefits Paralegal:
– Interpret and understand Title 38 US Code and Title 38 of the Federal Code of Regulations and  veterans’ benefits and applicable law and regulations
– Assist claimants with understanding and pursuing VA benefits
– Manage a high-volume caseload
– Develop and apply knowledge of VA appellate system to client interactions
– Navigate client cases and files to answer all status inquiries
– Create positive interactions with clients to maintain client satisfaction
– Draft basic correspondence to clients and the VA
– Update case management system with all correspondence, completed work, contact information,  and other information needed for record-keeping purposes
– Complete forms and releases with clients to obtain medical records, Social Security records,  service records and other necessary records and information
– Ensure that all documents listed in VA decisions are present in client files – Ensure VA is working on clients’ pending claims and appeals
– Complete applications for claims and appeals

Requirements of the Veterans Benefits Paralegal:
– A minimum of 2 years as a Paralegal handling Veterans Disability cases is required.
– High School Diploma (or equivalent) is required
– Experience with Needles case management / document management is beneficial
– Ability to manage a high-volume caseload involving sensitive information
– Excellent organization and time management skills
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
– Ability to respond quickly and efficiently to requests
– Deadline and detail-oriented
– Able to manage and balance multiple tasks and priorities
