Jones Networking is recruiting for a Workers’ Compensation Paralegal to join an Insurance Defense Law Firm in Charlotte, NC. Our client offers a competitive salary, health insurance, life & disability insurance, health savings account, 401K and paid time off.

Position Summary for the Workers’ Compensation Paralegal:
– Provides direct support to one Attorney.
– Obtain and index medical records for review by Attorneys.
– Review files and maintain follow-ups for receipt of required information and documents necessary for Attorneys to prepare for mediations, depositions, interviews and NCIC hearings.
– Schedule mediations, depositions, conference calls, in-person meetings and claims reviews.
– Communicate with adjusters and employer personnel to obtain responses to discovery.
– Prepare Designation of Mediator and Petition for Mediation forms.
– Obtaining and maintaining minimum billable time standards as set forth by the Attorneys.
– Complete process for retention of expert witnesses.
– Review and analysis of new file materials to verify receipt of all information necessary to comply with task assignment, respond to motions, forms or filings requiring response, calculate deadlines for completion of mediation and discovery and/or documents required for IC submissions,
– Maintaining and organizing reference files so they are easily accessible to the attorney.
– Obtaining and maintaining minimum billable time standards as set forth by attorney and client guidelines.
– Summarize medical records.

Qualifications Summary for the Workers’ Compensation Paralegal:
– Prior Workers’ Compensation Paralegal experience required.
– Experience summarizing medical records is required.
– Excellent typing skills.
– Ability to focus on the task at hand with minimal interruptions.
– Impeccable organizational skills, detail-oriented and time management.
– Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and handle conflicting priorities.
– Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook required.
– Proficiency with Worldox or other software packages is a plus.
