Human Resources Generalist Position Summary:

Administer various HR programs and procedures for company personnel; assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; update and maintain employee handbook and policies and procedures manual

Participate in developing and executing department goals, objectives and systems

Recruit for open positions by creating job postings, reviewing resumes, forwarding to hiring manager, as well as tracking of applicants and affirmative action (AAP) related information

Manage the interview and hiring process with hiring manager and applicants by scheduling and hosting interviews, performing reference and employment verifications, preparing new hire documents, and scheduling on-boarding with hiring managers

Administer on-boarding process, including performing background checks, conducting new hire orientation, processing new hire paperwork, and verifying employment eligibility through E-verify

Maintain HR records and develop reports and metrics for management, as required and requested, and according to federal regulations and procedures

Administer performance review processes

Administer Benefits to include enrolling new hires, processing benefit change requests, drafting employee communications, assisting with Open Enrollment process, reconciling and auditing benefits invoices, and serving as a liaison between employees and brokers

Administer FMLA and COBRA benefits and coordinate with applicable vendor to process Worker’s Compensation and Disability claims

Process separation paperwork, respond to employee inquiries regarding the separation process and guide managers through separation process

Research and respond to employee and manager inquiries related to benefits, policies, and other HR related topics

Ensure company remains compliant with Federal, state, and local laws and regulations

Monitor employee engagement by communicating with employees and conducting annual employee surveys and report concerns to the attention of leadership

Manage employee relations and assist managers in progressive discipline and performance improvement plans
Human Resources Generalist Qualifications Summary:

Bachelor’s Degree required.

Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and/or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) preferred

Minimum two years human resources experience involving the following; benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, recruiting, onboarding, policy implementation, affirmative action and employment law compliance

Strong knowledge of hiring processes along with federal regulations

Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion

Working knowledge, understanding and application of HR principle concepts, practices and appropriate employment laws
-
Strong presentation and public speaking skills
-
Excellent interpersonal skills and experience building relationships with hiring managers, job applicants, colleagues and business partners
