Jones Networking is recruiting for a Controller to manage an Accounting Department for a mid size Law Firm in Old Town, Alexandria. The Controller will play a critical role in the overall strategic management of accounting and finance activities of the Firm and will supervise and lead a team of seven direct reports. As a key member of the leadership team, the Controller will manage all accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, payroll and tax reporting. Controller Position Summary:
-Provide general supervision of the accounting staff and participate in annual reviews
-Responsible for final review and approval of monthly financial package to Members. Provide additional financial information to Board Members as requested
-Review and send monthly compilations to key clients
-Prepare quarterly tax draw spreadsheets and initiate payments
-Oversee fixed assets
-Perform annual 1099 filings, ACA Reporting and 401(k) audit
-Assist with annual health insurance negotiations and plan changes, as well as calculations for annual premiums
-File Partnership Taxes
Qualifications Summary:
-Minimum three years experience as a Controller; Law firm experience is a requirement
-Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
-Proven leadership skills
-Orion and/or ADP software experience preferred
-Strong understanding of economic and banking processes
-Working knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards
-Strong leadership abilities to effectively mentor and collaborate with team members
-Exceptional attention to detail while managing competing deadlines
