Family Law & Litigation Associate Responsibilities:
– Provide the highest quality family law legal services to a diverse group of clients in an ethical and professional environment
– Represent clients in court actions for divorce, annulment, child custody, child support, post separation support, alimony, equitable distribution, and enforcement of orders and agreements
– Prepare and process interrogatories, request for documents, request for admission, subpoenas, take and defend depositions
– Represent clients at family financial mediation
– Represent clients at arbitration
– Represent parents in court for contempt of child support orders
– Prepare separation and property settlement agreements
– Work cooperatively with attorneys, paralegals, support staff, and court staff
Family Law & Litigation Associate Qualifications:
– At least 5-6 years of family law experience
– Admitted to practice law in Maryland
– Excellent academic credentials, creative analytical and problem-solving skills
– Detail-oriented with excellent organization skills, including the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with little to no supervision
– Team player, committed to working with colleagues and clients
– Strong understanding of Maryland family law statutes and case law
– Ability to research and analyze legal issues
– Proficient legal writing skills
Family Law & Litigation Associate Compensation and Benefits:
– Approximately $130,000-$140,000/annually, depending on experience
