Jones Networking is recruiting for a Senior Benefits Coordinator for a Law Firm in Washington, DC. This career opportunity will perform administration of all benefits programs with an emphasis on the management and oversight of all leave programs to include short term disability, long-term disability, parental leave, workers compensation and family medical leave offered to attorneys and staff employees in all US based offices of the firm. Senior Benefits Coordinator Position Summary

  • Manage leave programs to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulatory requirements and achieve operational consistency.

  • Communicate leave policies and programs to attorneys and support staff.

  • Manage all leave claim filing activities to include the distribution of leave application package and forms, coordination of medical review process and communication of leave status to employee, supervisors and/or managing partners.

  • Communicate leave information with all appropriate claim filing entities to facilitate timely and appropriate follow-up.

  • Oversee all leave tracking to include timely status updates and changes to the Human Resources Information System and associated leave tracking systems. Prepare and maintain monthly leave reports for Senior Management.

  • Assist with the administration of the firm’s health, welfare and retirement plans.

  • Assist with coordination of Benefits Open Enrollment process as needed.

  • Conduct Associate/Counsel Orientations.

  • Assist with the completion of Benefits surveys.

  • Serve as backup for Staff Orientation as needed.

 

Benefits Coordinator Qualifications Summary

  • Minimum five years benefits administration experience required.
  • Three years of leave management experience preferred; multiple state office locations would be ideal, but not required.

  • Strong working knowledge of FMLA, ADA and state leave laws.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Workday. (or similar HRMS software)

  • Excellent customer service orientation.

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
