5-Axis CNC Machinist / Operator (2nd Shift)

Jones Networking is recruiting for an experienced 5-Axis CNC Machinist / Operator to join an established Manufacturing Company in Denver, NC. The company offers an excellent company culture, generous health benefits, and PTO. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience with 5 axis machining. This shift is from the hours of 3:00PM – 11:00PM.
Responsibilities of the 5-Axis CNC Machinist / Operator:
– Plans work assignment by investigating machine failures, studying drawings, blueprints, and manuals.
– Sets up equipment by setting adjustments to match specifications, testing tolerances.
– Build tooling properly for each job per set-up sheet
– Verifies parts by using precision measuring instruments, testing production routine.
– Completes inspection sheets per current quality systems.
– Logs in / out of jobs daily per E2 erp system.
– Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standard and procedures.
– Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
– Accomplishes operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
– Accomplishes all other tasks assigned by manager.
Requirements of the 5-Axis CNC Machinist / Operator:
– Prior experience operating 5 axis CNC machines is required.
– Operation of Mazak or Mikron CNC equipment is a plus.
– Ability to operate Zeiss CMM equipment is also a plus.
– Ability to set up and operate complex milling jobs with minimal supervision ensuring part conforms to specifications and requirements.
– Possesses exceptional mechanical ability and strong mathematical skills.
– Possesses excellent communication skills and problem-solving ability with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to solve complex issues.
– Ability to read and understand standard and geometric tolerances on blueprints and work instructions/operations sheets.
– Ability to verify dimensions using standard measuring instruments, such as micrometers, depth gauges, height gauges and dial calipers.
– Ability to hold tight tolerances associated with the machining of precision parts.
– The abilities to manufacture quality parts, perform general maintenance on equipment, make decisions while focusing on quality and controls are essential.
– Must have accountability in one’s work.
– Willingness to continue to expand knowledge and grow with the company.
– Punctual with time and ability to communicate effectively.
