Jones Networking is recruiting for a Chief Financial Officer to join the corporate office of a growing manufacturing company. The CFO is a strategic leader, visionary, and an advocate of the organization’s overall culture of the company and is accountable for all financial activities, directing the preparation of current financial reports and summaries, and creating forecasts predicting future growth. The CFO is instrumental in establishing the strategy and direction of the company and works productively with the C-suite to ensure the leadership team can execute on the company strategy effectively and within budget. The specific areas of accountability of the CFO are: Leadership, Finance, Accounting and Strategy.

Chief Financial Officer Position Summary:
– Develop and implement the budgeting and internal financial reporting process.
– Provide analysis of financial reports, financial trends and budgets for all lines of business and companies.
– Compare sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; make or oversee any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
– Lead and plan necessary corporate restructurings for any of its business entities.
– Analyze the company’s financial strengths and weaknesses to propose corrective actions and create a short and long term financial strategy.
– Implement efficiency in all financial areas to improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the company.
– Frame and help guide decision-making on financial strategy (e.g., both debt and equity financing) to help achieve ambitious growth goals.
– Own investor reporting and establish regular investor updates.
– Create a tax plan for the company to optimize tax liability and perform key tax service functions, such as calculating quarterly sales & use tax, city licensing fees and filing quarterly tax reports.
– Lead company through any necessary compliance checks, audit management and quarterly tax filings for multiple entities and structures.
– Accountable for all capital projects getting approved as needed and stay on time and on budget.
– Study short and long-range economic trends and project their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
– Research and keep up with similar company margin and key performance indicators to set standards and goals.
– Analyze operations to identify areas in need of reorganization, downsizing, or elimination. Determine areas that can be run more efficiently, share findings with department leaders and hold them accountable for implementing solutions to drive results.
– Identify positive and negative impacts for expansion into new product areas. Help lead expansion across products & lines of business.
– Source and cultivate strategic relationships (e.g., investors, corporate partners) to build and accelerate company value creation.
– Contribute to the development of the company’s goals and programs, especially those that are financial, and work cross-functionally with other team leaders to help them understand how their operations are tied to the balance sheet.
– Partner with and empower the Board and the senior leadership team to make risk-informed, data-driven decisions that increase stakeholder value.
– Oversee Accounting department, budget preparation, and audit functions.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
– Assist with Interviewing, hiring, and developing an Accounting & Finance staff of five.
– Assigning and directing work priorities, scheduling needs, and evaluating performance of direct reports.
– Meet with staff to discuss ideas, successes, and ways to improve and escalate any concerns to upper management.

CFO Qualifications Summary:
– Minimum three years experience in a CFO or other higher level accounting / finance managerial position.
– Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
– Manufacturing industry experience is required.
– CPA is preferred.
– Solid understanding with some experience with Mergers and Acquisitions – M&A.
– Knowledge and experience with Bill of Materials – BOM.
– Strong Financial Planning and Analysis – FP&A skills
– Ability to pass all relevant state and federal background checks.
– Flexibility to work onsite two days weekly.
