Position Title: Communications & Marketing Specialist

Jones Networking is recruiting for a Communications and Marketing Specialist to join an Association based in Alexandria, VA. This is a fully remote opportunity that may require an occasional onsite meeting. Our client offers a comprehensive healthcare package, 401(k) with match, generous PTO plan and many other benefits.
Position Summary for the Communications & Marketing Specialist:
– Support the development of the Association’s guidelines and statements by:
o Scheduling and coordinating conference calls and meetings
o Collecting, entering, and organizing conflict of interest disclosure information and preparing reports
o Coordinating member and Board review of guidelines and statements
o Maintaining the guidelines related section of the website
– Support fundraising and industry partnership initiatives by:
o Coordinating exhibitor and sponsor activities for meetings and year-round programs and activities
o Coordinating sponsor recognition as appropriate for activities including reporting on ROI
o Assisting with contract development, generating invoices, and following up with exhibitors, partners, and sponsors on outstanding payments
o Conducting research on prospective exhibitors and sponsors
o Assisting with preparation of sales materials and presentations.
o Sourcing and conducting research on marketing and sponsorship items for conferences.
o Supporting endowment and individual donor initiatives as requested
o Maintaining corporate relations section of the website
– Support integrated Association communication by:
o Maintaining and coordinating weekly and monthly communications calendar and email distribution schedules with staff members
o Managing content creation and organization of Association’s monthly newsletters
o Assisting with development of social media posts for programs and journals
o Monitoring and reporting on social media metrics
Qualifications Summary:
– Bachelor’s Degree is required
– Proficiency in Office 365 including Teams and Slack experience
– IMIS or other Association Management Software
– WordPress and/or EndNote experience
– Experience with Email Communications Software: INFORMZ (Higher Logic), Constant Contact, etc.
– Familiarity with Social media monitoring tools – Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, and/or TweetDeck
– Minimum one year of Association and Non-profit industry experience required
– Fundraising experience desired
