Jones Networking is recruiting for a Director of Architecture to join an award-winning residential design build remodeling firm in Tysons. This role is responsible for the design, architectural drawings and permitting of all projects designed in-house. For projects designed with outside architects, the Director of Architecture will monitor and potentially contribute for consistency and assurance that the company’s best practices are followed. This role will manage and coach the Design Team while ensuring their performance and work product.The Director of Architecture and Design Team work closely with the Sales Team as they move clients through the design process and into construction.

Director of Architecture Position Summary:
-Responsible for the supervision, training and development of the Design Team.
-Work in partnership with the Sales Team to create the best sales / design experience for clients.
-Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide design / build solutions.
-Work with the Project Leader to create as-built drawings, schematic design drawings, design and development drawings, construction documents and permit drawings.
-Research the latest design trends. (materials, finishes, fixtures, appliances, etc.)
-Work with the client, including; showroom visits, providing samples, etc.
-Work with the Production Team as required to incorporate current construction techniques and value engineering as an integral part of the Design/Build process.
-Drive design efficiency within the Design Team by evaluating software and assigning/amending workflow.
-Support the Sales Team with Design function and presentations.
-Develop drawings/presentations during the sales cycle that help move the client forward in the sales process.
-Source and develop technology solutions for sales presentations and client meetings as well as efficiencies within the Design Team such as 3D Renderings.
-Redline work from designers for quality control and to identify training topics.
-Accountable for the quality & accuracy of all plans created by the Design Team.

Qualifications Summary:
-Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture or Related Field required.
-Minimum 5 years experience in Residential Design Build Architecture.
-Architectural License desired.
-Knowledge of local and national building codes as well as DMV permitting process.
-Strong leadership skills.
-Excellent project management and organizational skills.
-Proficiency in Architectural Software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp and/or Revit.
-Understanding of zoning laws, environmental factors and structural issues.
