Position Title: Engineering Manager

Jones Networking is recruiting for an Engineering Manager to join an innovative building materials company located outside of Durham, NC. The ideal candidate will be a smart, motivated, collaborative Engineer who loves solving problems and wants to make an impact on the world. Engineering Manager Responsibilities
– Lead junior engineers in the execution of the company’s mission to decarbonize the built environment
– Develop the most efficient carbon-sequestering machines to fix how the world builds things
– Design machines and automated production lines at a rapid pace in order to move fast
– Work with other world-class engineers to integrate your designs into the most efficient machines possible
– Adapt to fast-changing inputs, data, specifications, and requirements
– Document designs in requirements documents, CAD models, engineering drawings, structural analyses, engineering specifications, and bill of materials to keep track of all the things you’re fixing
– Create detailed component and assembly drawings incorporating an understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack-ups.
– Create cost, mass, power, and CO2 equivalency budgets to keep track of all the things you’re fixing
Engineering Manager Requirements:
– 5+ years of experience in designing and building mechanical systems.
– 2+ years leading engineering and development teams
– Experience in project management, planning and budget management
– Proficient in the use of first-order calculations for system sizing
– Experience in reviewing engineering drawings, documentation, and assessing technical risks
– Experience in solving multidisciplinary problems from a data driven basis
– Expertise in test setup design, test planning, and report writing
– Hands-on fabrication experience: Welding, CNC milling and lathe, plasma cutting, soldering, and wiring
– Ability to work on site
