Position Title: Finance Director

Position Summary for the Finance Director:
– Provide advice and guidance to Administration on finance-related matters.
– Direct the investment and management of various funds.
– Administer all financial policies, transactions, and activities upon the approval of the Council and as directed by the Administration.
– Formulate and supervise accounting methods, procedures, forms, and records.
– Train, assign, direct, supervise and evaluate staff.
– Produce monthly financial statements.
– Monitor the efficiency and accuracy of the financial management systems; troubleshoot issues as necessary.
– Assist with the development of the annual budget.
– Maintain records of fixed assets.
– Prepare quarterly state and federal payroll tax returns.
– Review and approve journal entry batches and bank reconciliations.
– Oversee payroll and accounts payable processes.
– Assist with grant administration.
– Oversee the financial monitoring of capital projects expenditures.
– Serve as staff lead on audit coordination and completion in conjunction with contracted auditors.
Qualifications Summary for the Finance Director:
– Bachelor’s Degree required.
– CPA License highly preferred.
– At least 10+ years of accounting experience.
– Ability to be bonded.
– Knowledge of the principles and practices of business administration.
– Knowledge of budget development and management principles and practices.
– Knowledge of GAAP and GASB requirements.
– Knowledge of auditing principles.
– Knowledge of relevant federal and state laws, town ordinances, and department policies and procedures.
– Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
– Knowledge of research and statistical analysis principles.
– Skill in management and supervision.
– Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills.
– Skill in prioritizing and planning.
– Strong oral and written communication.
