Structural Engineer (Residential)
Remote in North Carolina or South Carolina
Jones Networking is recruiting for a Residential Structural Engineer to join a growing construction company in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of structural engineering and construction techniques. The company offers a flexible schedule, benefits, 401K, excellent PTO and bonus opportunities. The role is 100% remote in North Carolina or South Carolina as the team will meet quarterly.
Structural Engineer Responsibilities:
– Responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria
– Design structural solutions to unique obstacles found with many projects
– Devise new approaches to problems and prepare or modify drawings, monitor work compliance to applicable codes, and accepted engineering practices
– Prepare and develop detailed AutoCAD drawings from field notes or modify existing plans
– Prepare detailed construction drawings and details
– Prepare reports related to forensic investigations
– Physical Demands: This job does involve physical demands of assessing conditions on a job site that may require stooping, climbing, or maneuvering during field studies.

Structural Engineer Requirements:
– Required Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
– Minimum of 2 years of experience with AutoCAD and Revit or equivalent drawing software is preferred
– Experience working in residential and commercial projects is preferred
– Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
– Licensed PE is preferred or ability to obtain PE within 1 year
– Ability to multi-task and work on different projects simultaneously
– Strong technical, written, and oral communications skills
– Experience communicating directly with and providing services to clients
– Must be willing to work with multiple discipline projects within the structure (timber framing, roof systems, and helical piers)

Structural Engineer Salary & Benefits:
– This position will pay 90-110,000/annually (DOE) + bonus opportunities
