Jones Networking is recruiting for a Licensed Structural Engineer to join a design and engineering firm in Greensboro, NC. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of low-rise and mid-rise commercial and industrial projects, collaborating closely with architects, civil engineers, and internal design teams from concept through construction.
Structural Engineer Responsibilities:
– Design and analyze structural systems for low-rise and mid-rise buildings in accordance with applicable codes and standards
– Plan and prepare preliminary layouts, structural calculations, and detailed designs based on architectural drawings, sketches, and client requirements
– Collaborate with structural designers and drafters to produce complete contract documents and technical specifications
– Coordinate structural designs with multi-disciplinary project team members, including architecture and civil engineering
– Deliver high-quality design solutions within established project schedules and budgets
– Exercise sound engineering judgment and make independent technical decisions as needed
– Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews of completed work
– Attend and participate in meetings with clients, consultants, and design partners throughout all project phases
– Review contractor submittals, respond to RFIs, and assist in resolving construction-related issues
– Occasionally perform field measurements, site visits, and inspections to support design and construction efforts
Structural Engineer Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or equivalent from an accredited college or university
– Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural design of low-rise and mid-rise buildings
– Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina or ability to obtain via reciprocity. Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred
– Experience working both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented office environment
– Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively coordinate with internal teams and external partners
– Proven ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy, quality, and deadlines
