Position Summary for the Workers’ Compensation Paralegal:
– Oversee workers’ compensation attorneys’ calendars and manage scheduling order deadlines.
– Conduct research, data entry, maintain case files, and complete other ad-hoc requests, as needed
– Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and take proper precautions to protect information electronically and physically
– Strong technological skills to include: research using internet and legal search systems, ability to electronically organize and manipulate documents; ability to effectively manage calendars; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Work, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
– Strong organization and prioritization skills
– Ability to professionally, and effectively communicate both orally and in writing
– Thorough knowledge of legal principles, research techniques, legal terminology, and medical terminology.
Qualifications Summary for the Workers’ Compensation Paralegal:
– Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred
– Minimum of 2-5+ years of experience in a workers’ compensation law firm (plaintiff or defense)
– Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
