Position Title: IP Docketing Coordinator

Position Summary:
- Process incoming correspondence from the USPTO for both patent and trademark matters
- Process domestic PTO correspondence and enter information into the associated PTO mail folder in the firm’s docketing system and then docketing all applicable due dates and reminders
- Monitor USPTO and client notifications from the correspondence portal and link to the associated case in firm’s docketing system; docket all applicable due dates and reminders
- Process foreign trademark mail received from foreign associates and update information and/or docket applicable due dates and reminders
- Monitor notifications pertaining to foreign trademark mail sent by foreign associates through correspondence portal and enter into the associated case
- Run daily dockets for both patent and trademark cases and clear due dates from answers obtained from the responsible parties throughout the firm
- Docket Information Disclosure Statement (IDS) due dates
- Docket and clear due dates for interviews with examiners sent via electronic updates from the practice groups
- Process transfer-in memos and action sheets sent electronically by the transfer group
- Run patent and trademark status check reports
- Download USPTO mail from e-notifications or PAIR download reports
Qualifications Summary:
- Minimum three years intellectual property (IP) docketing experience required
- IP Manager software experience an asset
- Thorough understanding of foreign and domestic docketing procedures and rules
- Knowledge of how to process, calculate due dates and docket all types of PTO and IP related mail; including general Patent, Trademark, Post Grant, Reexams, Interference/Derivations and contested proceedings as well as Copyright matters
- Ability to identify invalid docket answers as well as omitted or erroneous PTO filed documents
- Ability to be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands; able to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong computer skills and proven ability to work in a computerized docketing software database and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software
