Jones Networking is recruiting for a Kitchen / BOH Manager to join a restaurant in Penn Quarter. Kitchen Manager Position Summary:
-Responsible for the hiring, training, and scheduling of all back of house employees.
-Perform inventory and order food & dry good supplies.
-Manage BOH reporting on Compeat restaurant management software.
-Schedule and forecast labor ensuring that all positions are staffed when needed.
-Complete digital opening and closing checklists.
-Ensure food waste log is being implemented and input into BOH software on a weekly basis. Monitor FIFO procedures.
-Supervise the kitchen during prep and service periods.
-Schedule maintenance of kitchen equipment as needed.
-Ensure the efficient flow of orders from service staff to the kitchen and that orders are being prepared with the correct priority with open communication at all times between the FOH and BOH team members.
-Inspect dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperature.
-Prioritize cooking and preparation times of each order to ensure proper pacing of guest meals.
-Conduct digital kitchen line check before shifts begin.
Qualifications Summary:
-Minimum three years of kitchen / F&B management experience in the food service industry required.
-ServSafe or Food Handler’s Certification preferred.
-Passion for food and ability to taste all food items to determine they meet standards.
-Ability to exercise solid judgement in time management, making decisions and
problem-solving effectively.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
-Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays when restaurant is open for business.
-High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
