Medical Records Analyst

Jones Networking is recruiting for a Medical Records Analyst to join a Law Firm in Charlotte, NC. The Medical Records Analyst is responsible for reviewing medical records and bills to ensure accuracy and completeness. The Law Firm offers a competitive salary plus bonuses, generous health and wellness benefits, life and disability insurance as well as paid time off. Responsibilities of the Medical Records Analyst:
– Review medical records and bills for accuracy.
– Ensure medical records and billings are complete and up-to-date.
– Flag any missing medical information and notify the Case Manager that additional information is needed.
– Prepare demand packages, ensuring they are complete prior to submission to insurance carriers.
– Prepare detailed medical record summaries.
– Identify when physician opinion letters are needed and obtain the same.
– Identify matters where prior medical history is needed and requests the same.
– Obtain permanent/partial disability rating documentation from physicians.
– Review and validate lost wage documentation.

Qualifications Summary of the Medical Records Analyst:
– At least 5+ years of experience reviewing and analyzing medical records is required.
– Bachelor’s degree or nursing degree required.
– Exposure to medical terminology and personal injury claims preferred.
– Analytical and critical thinking skills.
– High attention to detail.
– Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
– Working knowledge of medical terminology and ability to identify what is missing from a record.
– Working knowledge of medical and liability insurance coverages.
– Ability to review and understand medical diagnoses and treatment recommendations.
– Ability to work well in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
– Self-motivated and demonstrate initiative to complete duties without supervision.
– Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
– Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
– Ability to operate a computer and general office equipment.
– Knowledge of Microsoft Windows/Office and ability to learn and use various software programs.
