We are searching for a Tax Advisor/Director to join a CPA firm. The ideal candidate will lead and support business transactions and estate planning matters. This firm offers excellent benefits, PTO and many other perks.
Tax Advisor/Director Position Summary:
– Research complex tax matters and develop comprehensive and planning memoranda for proposed business and family transactions
– Manage client relationships
– Oversee tax strategies, guidance, and filings on behalf of the firm’s client base, and work closely with tax accounting managers and partners to research, document and support such tax positions on behalf of a diverse client base.
– Manage client relationships, in the context of a specific transaction and/or for general consulting and compliance matters and collaborate with accounting professionals and external client advisors.
– Develop expertise in a broad range of tax planning matters necessary for large, closely held businesses, including corporate, partnership, and real estate taxation, estate, gift, and charitable planning, executive compensation, taxation of business operations, investments, and related areas.
– Stay abreast of changes to tax laws and strategies as well as advances in tax strategy.
– Develop and customize pro-formas and projections, including scenario analysis, for clients based on their specific tax situations and transaction expectations.
– Present suggested plans to clients and promptly respond to client questions.
Tax Advisor/Director Qualifications Summary:
– Minimum 5 years of prior experience in a tax and/or legal research capacity, specifically with a national accounting firm
– Prior experience preparing tax and planning memoranda
– Bachelor’s Degree required
– Juris Doctor or Masters in Taxation is preferred
– Knowledge and use of tax research programs and databases
– Be able to problem solve and meet tight deadlines
– Be able to execute projects independently
– Excellent verbal and communication skills
– Exceptional relationship developmental skills
– Proficient with MS Office Suites
Approximately 200,000 – 400,000/annually, depending on experience
